Washington D.C. Oct 5th 1868

Rev John Kimball
Bureau Supt of Education

Dear Sir

I have made several unsuccessful attempts of late to get a personal interview with you.

Something ought to be done immediately about supplying the deficiency of teachers at the Howard School. Miss Leland's room is crowded and unless assistance is forth coming will be obliged to send out some. This of course is undesirable.

I have at Goodhope fifty (50) small chairs for which we have no further use and want the room occupied for storing same for fuel. Can you send a team for them? Please give me information upon the matter at your earliest convenience.

Yours Respectfully
