To Professor Spencer F. Baird
Secretary Smithsonian Institution etc.

Sir:-

I have the honor to submit the following report for the month ending February 28th 1882. upon the progress of the work in the Section of Bird Skeletons.

The following skeletons have been added to the collection and properly cataloged, since my last report.

1. [[underline]] Mergus serrator [[/underline]]- catalogue No. 16626.
1. [[underline]] Clangula albeola [[/underline]]- " " [[dittos for catalogue No.]] 16627.
1. [[underline]] Colymbus septentrionalis [[/underline]]- " " [[dittos for catalogue No.]] 16628.

These were presented by Mr. V.N. Edwards of Woods Hall, Mass. and were received in the early part of the month. Upon casual examination they seem to be in each case a complete skeleton, and all are nicely cleaned, apparently having been submitted
