the Section a large amount of material was found to be in hand (an accumulation of nearly two years) which required immediate attention in the way of study & identification, with a view to preservation in the collection of reserves or distribution into the duplicates. In this duty I was assisted most ably by Dr. R.W. Shufeldt USA. Mr B. Bean furnishing amply clerical assistance. Later on the services of Mr. John Ridgway & Mr John Yarrow were made available Mr Bean having been detailed for other duties. These gentlemen have faithfully & energetically labored in the work assigned them & to their industry is largely due the excellent condition of the collections.

The entire collection
