The meeting of the Board of Regents adjourned at approximately 12:15 p.m., and was followed by an informal luncheon. 

[[underlined]] Regents' Dinner [[/underlined]]

The traditional Regents' Dinner was held on Sunday evening, May 8, 1983, in the National Air and Space Museum. Following a reception around the helicopter "Spirit of Texas," the Regents and guests were seated at dinner on the balcony overlooking the hall of aviation. After dinner the Secretary greeted the guests and introduced the Chancellor, who presented the Langley Medals and the following citations:

Your piloting expertise, imagination and daring of the highest order made possible the first historic helicopter circumnavigation in the "Spirit of Texas."

With great appreciation the Board of Regents and the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution are pleased to present you herewith the Langley Medal for Aerodromics.

Your wealth of aviation experience and practical determination were invaluable to the historic helicopter circumnavigation of the world in the "Spirit of Texas." 

With great appreciation the Board of Regents and the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution are pleased to present you herewith the Langley Medal for Aerodomics. 

Speaking on behalf of his copilot, Mr. Perot thanked the Chancellor, and the Secretary, and the Regents for this distinction and expressed pleasure in being so honored.
