Other programs will explore such varied subjects as "Crossing the Distance," "Designs for Living," "Speaking Without Words," "The Last Flower," "Filling in the Blanks" (collectors and collecting), and "Museum People."

Extensive pre-production activities are nearly complete for the [[underlined] Treaty of Paris [[/underlined]] film, which marks the 200th anniversary of the Treaty ending the American Revolution and bringing the first formal recognition of American independence.  The office of Telecommunications is producing this 30-minute documentary under a $200,000 Federal appropriation.  It is intended for educational distribution, both here and abroad, and for broadcast over public television.  The producer, director and camera team will be conducting the principal filming in Paris and London during September, with other filming set for later in the fall in the U.S.  The script has been reviewed by Dr. Richard Morris, author of the definitive work on the Treaty, and by Claude-Anne Lopez of the Benjamin Franklin Papers, as well as by Marc Pachter of the National Portrait Gallery and Joan Challinor of the National Committee for the Bicentennial of the Treaty of Paris.  They have helped with specific points regarding historical accuracy, and all have been very positive in their comments on the script.

The recently completed film [[underlined]] Yorktown [[/underlined]], funded by the Yorktown International Bicentennial Committee, will premiere at the museum of American History on October 18.  PBS stations around the country, including WETA (Channel 26 in Washington) will air the program this same week in honor of the battle's anniversary.

The short version of the Quadrangle film is now in the final editing stage.  It touches upon the philosophy, the meaning, and the character of the Quadrangle itself and is intended for fund-raising, informational and educational purposes.  A longer film, to premiere soon after the Quadrangle
