Rev. John Kimball Supt of Education
Washington DC.

Dear Sir

We are making all the necessary arrangements we can for building a school-house here this fall. The Colored people manifest a strong desire to get the house up so that we can have school in it nex winter. They are very anxious to commence the middle of Augt. to build the the house. I suppose you will want to furnish the plan for the house, and when you send it, please state how much you think it will cost to build after the plan which you send.

We have secured a lot to build on. It is in a nice place; and very nicely located. Some of the colored people want a Colored Lady, to hold the Deed; and some of them are opposed to it, and want the Trustees of the School house to hold it. Please state who you think the proper one would be,
