States that he received the form sent him and presented it to the trustees for their approval, but he has learned that they have declined to sign it for the reason that they had signed a paper at the request of Genl. [[underlined]] C. H. Howard, [[/underlined]] of similar import before the school house was commenced, and secondly that the land is held in trust by white persons for church and school purposes &c. &c.
