Dear Miss Thompson,
Both of your letters of application have been received & as Mr. Chapin is no longer secretary of this Society; have been referred to us. The first one we enclosed immediately to "Rev. John Kimball, Supt. Education, Washington D.C." as he had asked us to give him the names of any colored applicants we might have. He was much in want of teachers for Maryland. We gave him your address & asked him to write to you, if he would like to engage you. I am sorry to say
