Among the reptiles brought home by the curator from his collecting trip in the West was a very curious snake collected by Mr. Herbert Brown near Tucson, Arizona, which upon careful examination was found to belong to a very distinct new species. It has even been deemed necessary to establish for it a new genus, to which a Lower Californian species, previously described by Prof. Cope, is now also referred.
