In most instances it was found necessary to review the entire genus to which the specimens collected by Dr. Merriam belong resulting in unravelling considerable confusion in these genera, as well as in the unexpected discovery of several new forms both in this collection and in the old collection of the museum. A full report upon this work will be submitted later.
