has been found to be in a bad enough shape, but the exotics are in a much worse state. The time has been well spent, however, for not only have some very interesting specimens been rediscovered and types rescued, as, for instance, the type of [[underline]] Bufo lugubrosus [[/underline]], but some very valuable North American material was also found among the alleged exotics, especially three specimens of [[underline]] Xantusia riversiana [[/underline]], by means of which the original locality of the type can now be fixed.

The collection received from Mr. Orcutt, San Diego, Cal. contained several interesting species which necessitated a closer examination of many of the specimens. The result will be embodied
