alluded to, he transmitted his whole material to the curator with the request that he undertake the task. The collection was an extensive one, and the curator spent several days in working it up. The appreciation of the work done by employees of the National Museum thus shown by scientists abroad is gratifying, and the curator is in hopes that his endeavor will be creditable to the institution. 

The curator participated in the annual meeting of the American Ornithologists' Union held in this city November 16 to 20.
