shall [[underlined]] probably [[/underlined]] transfer to the New England Branch from Feb. 1st, as we have already done (from Jan. 1st) with Miss C.L. York at Great Mills. I want to have as few teachers as possible to take care of.

How late do you think it worth while to send new teachers? later than March first?

Yours of the 2nd inst is just recd & by the same mail one from Miss George, saying the Trustees persuaded her to stay until they received a promise of having a man sent to them - a good sign, although she had but [[underlined]] seven [[/underlined]] pupils after teaching a week. Will you try to find a young man for the place & let Miss George go to Birdsville, as you suggested? The Trustees [[underlined]] wish [[/underlined]] to make the change.

We will engage Miss L.H. Iredell at $20. per month - please give her my address & ask her to write at once. From Henry Brown I have heard nothing - was Newport his address? I return the recommendation.

When you know it, I should be glad of the [[strikethrough]] address [[/strikethrough]] name of Mrs. Clarke's asst.
