is discontinued, much to the regret of the Colored people in this part of the City. We are often asked why, we cannot have another establishment here. Mr. Hopkins is from home a good portion of the time, and told me the rooms that were rented for the Colored school before, could be rented for the same purpose again, if desired. They have been refitted and put in good condition for the purpose of renting to a family, but I would much prefer having a school in them. There are three connecting rooms, and Mr. Aikin considered it a very desirable location for a school and had a large one, of 90 scholars. There seems to be one much needed here, again and a large number could be

gathered in at once. I have felt during the summer that I have been remiss in my duty, in not starting a Sabbath school, with my daughters, in the rooms, as they were vacant, and all the colored people about here, old and young keen been so desirous to learn. If there is a defeciency of teachers, our oldest daughter could assist as she has had some experience in the Public Schools.
