John Kimball, Esq.
Supt. Bureau Schools &c.

Dear Sir,

I am in due receipt of your letter of inquiring inspecting the school at Kendall Green. I cannot fully anticipate the action of the Committee, when they shall come together in September, but my conditions are that the school will be sustained at N. Y. specially, if you provide us with the necessary accommodations.

I think you will be safe in putting the buildings in readiness for school purposes. And in as much as there will be a large number of the freed people located at the Green, it will be well to increase our efforts there, to bring them, as far as possible, under a course of instruction.

Very respectfully
