Returning home after a longer journey, than expected, I hastened to see our Mayor Mr A. L. Peadro in reference to Thompson.  the colored Doctor's claims Mr Peadro informed me that the Doctor was not only paid by Council for all services rendered by him to the City, but also through the Mayor's efforts received full payment from the county by the Board of Supervisors, and his receipts are in the hands of the proper authorities.  The Mayor further states that at this day the Dr. has no just claim whatever either against the Council or the County, of which I informed Dr Thompson myself, personally, when ^[[he]] still appeared to lay some claim to something and promised to show his papers with the amount, to me; but has not yet done so.
