yours requesting information in regard to building for colored School Sc.[[?]], The colored people have, as I learn from inquiry about [[strikethrough]](eighty)[[/strikethrough]] eighty dollars subscribed, and about seventeen of it, is now available, the balance very doubtful when Paid if ever, the people are tenants, much scattered, many of them changing their places of abode at the end of the year, I have offered them a lot, on which, to build their house, the deed is not made made out, some of the colored think my lot not centeral enough for them, as it will be on the extreme south.
