Sir I hereby acknowledge the receipt of your favour of the 2nd inst and am happy to inform you that I taken the initiatory steps for the organization of the Vanguard of Freedom, ^[[insertion]] today. [[/insertion]] The Report has been sent to Mr. Newton as per direction 

I take this opportunity to return my thanks for your kindness in our behalf.  Leut. Hawkins desires to know if on the Commencement of our School in Septr we need expect a Teacher from the Bureau and if so you will please be kind enough to let us know at
