A large and interesting collection of birds were received from the Imperial University in Tokyo, Japan, with the request that the curator work it up. He has commenced to do so, and will be able to report during August, or September. 

Considerable progress was made during the month with the reptile casts for the exhibit of the museum at the World's Columbian Fair in Chicago  next year. The curator also commenced selecting material for the alcoholic series of family types. 

The Nomenclature Zoologicus has been progressing satisfactorily, considering more than 400 additional generic
