Mr. Frederick C. Test, as usual, devoted one half of his time to work upon the Nomenclator Zoologicus, and the other half to routine work in the department.

[[underline]] Special Work Accomplished. [[/underline]]
Dr. O.P. Hay, of Irvington, Indiana, who visited Washington during the month chiefly in order to stay Indiana fishes, spent some time in the department completing some of the work in Indiana reptiles which he has studied at various times before. Work upon the selection of the specimens to form the alcoholic series of family
