sprinklers in the Baird Auditorium has been completed, and installation of sprinklers in third floor offices and the Rotunda is expected to be complete in May 1985.

[[underlined]] Air and Space Museum [[/underlined]]. Skylight repairs in the main exhibition halls are complete, as are base contract roof repairs and HVAC improvements. Some additional fire dampers and access panels are being added to the contract and are expected to be complete by May 1985.

[[underlined]] STRI Research Facilities [[/underlined]]. At the Tropical Research Institute, a new one-story, ten-unit residence building will be built at Naos to house research scientists; at Gamboa an existing building will be renovated and leased by scientists for housing. Restoration and renovation funds are being requested in fiscal year 1986.

[[underlined]] National Zoological Park [[/underlined]]. Construction of the Olmsted Walk is expected to begin in mid-April. An architect-engineer design contract has been awarded for the Veterinary Hospital in Rock Creek. The renovation of the Bird House is expected to be complete by late spring. Construction of the Veterinary Hospital at the Conservation Research Center in Front Royal is expected to be completed in summer 1985.

The United States Patent Model Foundation is progressing with its plans for the patent model capital campaign. A search is under way to locate the most appropriate prominent individual to act as the national fund-raising chairperson; simultaneously, interviews are being conducted to recruit for staff positions, the most key of which is a development officer. A number of professional fund-raising consultants have been interviewed as well, and the Foundation is ready to engage a consultant
