corrections of deletions or omissions will be accomplished in late December or early January.

[[underlined]]Natural History Building.[[/underlined]] A report in currently being developed that addresses the structural and geotechnical requirements of adding additional floors to the space in the West Court (as noted at the May 6, 1985 meeting of the Board--see minutes, pp. 70-71). The completed report will be presented in January. A master plan involving energy, fire protection and other needs is being prepared, and a preliminary schedule for implementation will be drafted in January following review of the plan.

[[underlined]]Air and Space Museum.[[/underlined]] The replacement of the steps and water-proofing of entry areas on the north and south sides of the building are progressing on schedule for a January 15, 1986 completion.

[[underlined]]STRI Research Facilities.[[/underlined]] A presentation of Phase II of the Master Plan was given to the secretary and other Smithsonian staff members in mid-November for determination and approval of essential elements of the plan, The development of the Master Plan continues and is scheduled for completion and final presentation in early March 1986. The consultant for the design of the Tupper facility is on schedule with final plans and specifications due before the end of January.

[[underlined]]Status of PCBs in Smithsonian Transformers[[/underlined]]
Much progress has been made since the Environmental Protection Agency inspected a number of electrical transformers earlier this year and since the issuance by EPA of new federal regulations governing the use of PCB transformers.
