[[image - drawing of a women in a large fur coat]] DRAWING BY DAVID HALPERN MARY BETH HURT Her Special Image Mary Beth Hurt, who plays the brassy, would-be pop singer, Meg MaGrath, in Beth Henley's multi-prize-winning play, Crimes of the Heart, is no stranger to prizes herself. She won an Obie Award and a Drama Desk nomination for her original creation of Meg in the last year's Manhattan Theatre Club production of Crimes of the Heart; won the Clarence Derwent Award for her Miss Prue in Love For Love; received a Tony nomination as Trelawney in Trelawney of the Wells; and was nominated for a British Academy Award for her film performance in Woody Allen's Interiors. The 33-year-old actress will next be seen in the film version of The World According To Garp. Offstage, Ms. Hurt is a shy person who rarely grants interviews. Fashion-wise, she prefers clothes that are more like costumes. "They're more fun and make life more interesting," she says. And since she "freezes" in winter, she loves furs-especially fox. For PLAYBILL she wears Michael Forrest's Alaskan cherry red fox cape with its own, two-skin scarf for a touch of luxury and intrigue. The dramatic cape is available at Michael Forrest, Inc., 333 Seventh Avenue. by Barbara Gerard 60 [[end page]] [[start page]] [[advertisement]] Levi's® Womenswear jeans are softly fitting in Cone Flex® denim.
