SUPPLEMENT COVER/FASHION DETAILS
Gossip is in these days, whether in print or on a Fifth Avenue corner, and what better way to engage in it than in these classic, sotto voce outfits that exude stylish intrigue and utter confidence this spring.

The lady at left, who is obviously lending an ear to a shocking rumor, wears a royal porter jacket that's beyond reproach. It is softly belted, with shoulder shirring and wide pockets, and is topped with a double-faced, stand-up collar in blushing red. (The blush appears again in the cuffs.)
Her royal dirndle, front zipper skirt repeats the red motif on slashed side pockets. Jacket and skirt are of 65% polyester and 35% cotton topped with poplin.
Completing the conversation piece is a split crew neckline, short sleeved T shirt of 100% cotton with a slashed pocket and three matching buttons. From Ciao.

The canary who is dishing out the dirt is appropriately garbed in marigold. Her deceptive blazer suit has the look of solid linen, but the truth of the matter is that it's of woven poly/rayon.
Her classic, fly-front pants allow her to move about town with agility, gathering the latest scoop on who's doing what and where.
Her silky woven polyester shirt in bright foulard with white and yellow dots on black will undoubtedly cause talk of its own. By Acting Up, a division of Jonathan Logan.
