WE THANK YOU
SHOW-DOWN, America's most contagious and highly habit-forming magazine, thanks you, dear readers and advertisers, for this issue, we celebrate our first birthday. Although there's only the one candle, the cake is large enough and we hope to pass it on to each of you through the medium of timely articles and other features, which in turn, we hope, will instill in your hearts the one magazine of the entertainment world, SHOW-DOWN.

This magazine is dedicated to the American reading public and to the theatre-goers and all performers in particular. It has the honor of establishing a precedent - - that of being the only literary effort of its type giving the low-down on theatricals. Our aim and purpose during the past year was to furnish our readers with outstanding news of the theatre and all its branches - - to offer concentrated circulation to our advertisers - - thus assuring results. We believe in and invite constructive criticism at all times.

And so, it is our job to continue to bring to you the dramatic highlights, the everyday needs, the pulse-beat of the theatre-goer, and all personalities relative to the field of amusements. Thus do we endeavor to fill what we feel to be an implied need in offering to you this - - your very own publication - - SHOW-DOWN.
-THE EDITOR.
