Dear Mr. Abbegg: 
I was frightfully sorry not to have been here to receive you when you called the other day, especially as I understand that I missed the opportunity of making Mrs. Abbegg's acquaintance. 

However, I hope you will not fail to return soon again, and perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know the approximate time of your visit as I should not want to miss you a second time.
