Mr. Jacques Seligman, Director
Jacques Seligmann Galleries
5 East 57th Street
New York, New York

Dear Mr. Seligmann:

As you, of course, know, "The 1949 Corcoran Exhibition" is now on view at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Mr. Hermann W. Williams, Jr., Director, has selected a group of forty paintings for circulation under our auspices. We consider it a great privilege to add this exhibition again to our roster of traveling shows and we hope that we may have your kind permission to include your loan for the one year tour beginning in June.

It may interest you to learn that the following Galleries have already requested "THE 1949 CORCORAN BIENNIAL": Springfield Art Museum, Louisville, Kentucky; Cedar Rapids Art Association, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Currier Gallery of Art, Manchester, New Hampshire; Brooks Memorial Art Gallery, Memphis, Tennessee; David Strawn Art Gallery, Jacksonville, Illinois and the University of Virginia Museum, Charlottesville, Virginia. The remaining periods are already under consideration.

As always, the Federation will be responsible for the insurance as well as the dispersal of the exhibition. We shall inform you about the progress of the exhibition and we shall notify all borrowers that the paintings are for sale. Please be so kind as to sign the enclosed releases, one to us and one to the Corcoran Gallery, and return them to this office as soon as possible.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation, I am

Sincerely yours,
