Mr. Jacques Seligman
Jacques Seligman Gallery
5 East 57th Street
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Seligman:

As the most important exhibition of the coming season, and to mark The Arts Club's fiftieth anniversary, we are planning a show entitled DRAWINGS 1916/1966.

The exhibit will be assembled from museums and collections across the country. The artists whose works we have selected have all been shown at The Arts Club during our fifty years. The DRAWINGS 1916/1966 Committee includes Harold Joachim, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago, Joseph Randall Shapiro, distinguished Chicago collector, and the undersigned.

We plan a gala evening opening at which Daniel Catton Rich, Director of the Worcester Museum and an old friend of the Club's, will speak. We will publish a well illustrated catalogue of the exhibit which will also document the Arts Club's history.

We hope you will be willing to lend your La Fresnaye CHEF DE MUSIQUE, 1919 as we remember the fine exhibit which you helped the Club assemble. Also we have on our list another La Fresnaye, MEDITATION, 1922 belonging to H.T. Kneeland. Can you tell us how to locate him? He is not listed in the Manhattan telephone directory.

With all best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours,
