Affirmative Action for Women and Minorities

These analyses discuss the employment trends for women and minorities in fiscal years 1985, 1986, 1987. Employment data are for civil service and trust permanent full and part-time employees. 

[[underlined]] Total Work Force [[/underlined]] (see Figure A-1)

The overall size of the total work force has increased slightly over the past three fiscal years with representation of minorities showing some spotty improvement. 

• The number of White women increased slightly, but the percentage within the work force remained unchanged. 

• Representation of Blacks increased moderately.

• The number of Hispanic men increased, but percentage representation remained unchanged. Representation of Hispanic women increased slightly.
 
• There was a slight increase in the representation of Asian Americans. 

• Representation of American Indian men remained unchanged, and representation of American Indian women increased slightly. 

[[underlined]] Grade Comparisons [[/underlined]]

Analysis of grades 13-15, and 16 and above and equivalents is pertinent because of their key role in Institution management and research priorities.
