DEE DEE
BRIDGEWATER...

Dee Dee Brigewater, the beautiful young woman who plays the "god witch" Glinda in The Wiz, is onstage for only five minutes-quite long enough to have won her a 1975 Tony. Although The Wiz is Dee Dee's first B'way role, she has apperared on stage all over the world as a jazz vocalist. (In 1974 Downbeat voted her vocalist of the year.)... Offstage, Dee Dee lives in a village apartment with her 3-year-old daughter and dirctor Gilbert Moses. Her lifestyle is infromal. Her look-"relaxed warmness." She favors turbans, bright colors and cloths that make a theatrical statment. "I know I'm going to be a semi-public figure and I'm trying to build a wardrobe which is characterized by a sort of tasteful flash."
