Mrs. H. E. Page & London one of the Freedmens parties to the contract for the cultivation of Beech Island for the year 1867 agrees as follows, London withdraws from the said contract & undertakes to cultivate 50 acres of land or more if agreed on between him & Wm Brown & where Wm Brown thinks best to assign it subject to the same conditions as contained in the former contract except that London is to find his own team & feed it all the year, he is to have the use of the land & nothing else, & is to pay for the rent of it to Wm Brown for Mrs Page one third part of all the cotton, corn & fodder he can make. He binds himself to keep his share of the fences up & of the ditches cleaned out.
