September 13th 1894.

To-day I went on a crabbing party that is to say it was a party of Cushings and myself and we went to catch crabs. I lunched with the Robert Cushings at 1.30. We sat at table like this - Mr R. Cushing, C. Cushing, May Burns, Grafton C. Mrs C. Howard C. G.V. Olivia C. After lunch we started and drove to the bridge on the Ocean drive where we all got out. Meanwhile T Cushing and Edith had joined us.

But we discovered that Edith could not get through the fence we had to cross, so she was obliged to go back. Howard took a net and came with me and the rest divided up. We wandered about first to find a good place, we caught the greatest number of crabbs and we had such a nice jolly time. It is a day I shall not forget soon. I wish I could tell you all the little details, but I cannot.
