cool breeze blew across our faces and gradually it got darker & darker until we could scarcely distinguish each other.  And we sat & talked, and it seemed as if then was rest & peace for all.

That night I dined at Mrs Goclets, and it was a nice dinner, very.

The next day I dined at the Whitehouse's and Mo sat on one side.

asked me to dance and after that Mo asked me to go on the piazza.  We sat there or in the room ajoining all the rest if the evening and talked.  It was nice.  It is always restful to talk to Mo & I say just what I think of and I think he does too.  We discuss people and things and exchange ideas.  He is coming this afternoon.

I was terribly tired yesterday; now I feel more rested.  Fortunately Mama does not know just how much I have done.
