After dinner Mr Codman talked to me and asked if he might call at teatime etc.

Mr & Mrs Bayard Cutting took me with them to Mrs Brokhurst Cutting's who was going to have a very small supper party.  It turned out very small and if it has not just happened that the two men I like two of them best I know had been there it would have been deadly dull.  As it was

I went into supper with Mo and R. Ronalds sat the other side.  We were gay I can tell you.  I don't know why I felt so unless it was that I was seated just where I wanted to be.  At any rate I repeat I was gay.  Oh I can't tell you what was said, what was looked.  You will not forget easily dear child. So I sat there I could not help thinking which do I like best, which is the best, and even then I felt Mo was the best, but that I felt quite differently towards them.  Mo was a friend, a dear friend and one which I could trust and understand,
