Jay Burden took me ^[[into dinner]] at the Sloane's last night so of course I enjoyed it. We had a very nice talk in spite of the fact that Miss Wilson sat on Jay's other side and insisted in talking to him as hard as she could. She scarcely payed any attention to Count Seistorpff who took her in.

January 9th 1895.

Alas I am out of my teens to-day!  Alas I am no more [[underlined]] very [[/underlined]] young! Alas when a girl is twenty she is on the road to being an old maid.  It's not that I mind being one, but then — well I am not as young as I used to be.  They say I look young though which is something.

I have been having a most beautiful time lately & the prospect of still better. The two next dances on the 15th & 17th I have had partners for Cotillon & supper a long time - as follows 15th Cotillon W. Field extremely nice, supper
