Well the evening came to an end only too soon - oh God if it could only have lasted for ever - and I went home. To-day was Church, and you can imagine my rage when that awful Mr Wilkes came & joined me going out & asked if he could walk up. "Jim" passed me going in the same direction and we said Good morning and made some remarks about a carriage worked by steam that we had stopped to look at then he went down town & we up. I was so angry with Mr Wilkes I could have taken

his head off. I did'nt look at him once ^[[walking]] all the way up town and he made me compliments on how well I looked and always looked & a lot of bosh until I was so angry I could have kicked him. A pleasant frame of mind to be in after coming out of church.
When "Jim" said Goodnight yesterday he said something about coming to see me soon. I hope he does not come this afternoon but Monday.
