One clump at edge of river with some shoots flowering and also several new shoots 
Culm sheath persistent, when very young [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] in places on the lower half [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] cover by [[?]] brown short hairs. When sheath old 
[[strikethrough]] they [[/strikethrough]] most of them fall 
Culms strong and flexible not erect but curved on the [[bore?]] and arching over trees.  When young culm filled in center with pith.  Walls are thick.  When old the culm is hollow in center. Blade of culm leaf long and reflexed, late deciduous but in new shoot very thin

some time a few are erect, and then later reflexed. Long [[?]] setae, silky and curved when older.
