their residence there and opened quite elaborate offices. Saw Randy yesterday but he was not over worked. 

Lockwood, our engineering officer, one of our pilots and I went to Trebeurden - NE of Brest & near Lannion - on our leave and had a most wonderful time of it. No USA soldiers had been there and we were quite the [[underline]] guests [[/underline]] of the season. Not finding rooms at the hotel because all were occupied by convalescing soldiers we accepted the hospitality of a charmingly beautiful madame & spent our leave as her guests. There were several very attractive madamoiselles there who helped me out a lot on my French. Yes! We had a fine time, rather quiet & sober for a leave in France
