much chance to leave before that time, and may not go even then. The men are all very anxious to get back, and I dont blame them. Germany is a rotten country, in my estimation, and the people worse. Wish I was waiting back in France. The only consolation we have is the right to shove Germans off the sidewalk and the good quarters we occupy. We are billeted in the best homes in West Trier or TrĂªves as the French call it. Our work consists of reglages and [[panel?]] exercises with the artillery, manoeuvers with the infantry, and taking pictures - tho the bad weather cuts down our flying a great deal. Just at present we are conducting a school for artillery men and being "officer in charge" I am busy and worried. It only lasts one week longer thank goodness.

Well, Doc, I'm sleepy so I'll quit, but promise not to wait so long the next time, and expect to hear from you sooner too. Did you ever get the letters I wrote you at Beaune?

Best regards and as ever
