E. SIMMS CAMPBELL – SAWMILL RIVER ROAD – WORTHINGTON
WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK
May 21st, 1943.

Dear Colonel Davis,

Many thanks for the go-ahead on the insignia for the 99th Fighter Squadron.

I received your communication from Billy Rowe of the Pittsburgh Courier and as soon as I get out from under quite a bit of work – – – – which will be within the next three weeks, I will forward a number of designs to Lieutenant William R. Thompson and you and your staff may go over them and pick the one which you feel will best express the fighting qualities of your squadron.

Remember me to your father when you write him and the best of everything to you and your wife.

Sincerely,

[handwritten signature]
