SUBJECT: Temporary appointment, Army of the United States  May 13, 1942/

TO Captain Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., A. C.,
Maxwell Field, Alabama.

1. The President, on this date, promoted you, temporarily, a major in the Army of the United States (Air Corps), under the provisions of Public Law 455, 77th Congress, approved February 16, 1942, with rank from March1, 1942.

2. It is requested that you execute the required oath of office on the form provided herewith, W. D., A.G.O. Form 0337-T, and return it without delay directly to this office.

3. Commissions issued to commissioned personnel as a result of temporary promotion in the Army of the United States have been discontinued for the period of the War.
