(3) Coimbra excited @ discovery
of holes in which Leontopithecus
shelter.
In 2ndary forest holes
may be no[[scribble]] more than 1 meter
above ground since trees
are not old enough to have
many holes.
Coimbra believes that density
may be limited by available
shelters. (Some are made by
woodpeckers).

(4) The chrysopygus population
is in forest in a reserve.
Probably stable. Chrysomelas
from Bahia, also in reasonable
solid tracts of forest.
Rosalia is [[deleted]]in[/deleted] present only in forest patches in state of
Rio. Chances for L.r.rosalia to
survive in natural habitat
is poor. Even Poco das Antas
is degraded forest.

(5) For reintroduction to Poco das
Antas Coimbra is talking
about putting nest boxes
[[sketch of nest box]]
up against trees
with double section
and two openings
to prevent predators
(Bubo virginianus, Eira barbara,
Felis tigrina)from
catching captive-adapted L.r.r.

Nest box entrances should be no more
than 6[[insertion]]-7[/insertion]]cm across, but may be
longer. 6cm seems too narrow,
but keeper Francisco did
trap chrysopygus in shelter with
such a small opening.

6 Francisco followed family of
chrysopygus for a while. Stayed
in same tree eating fruit for
