Ben waxes eloquent about locomotor ability & cognitive maps which he decides #6, 9, R & M have, but no one else.

We talk about problems of knowing how to get from A to B, and how we as scientists measure [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] the ability. We do know that we have not measured such a variable.

During period when groups are having an encounter, one of the IBDF guards appears [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] on the main trail & shouts that he has a howler monkey which was found on the road, what should he do? We all somewhat freak out.

That night the guards appear with a female GLT which was just confiscated in Rio. She is young, tame & seems totally screwed up.

Day 13

Tues 12 [[strikethrough]] January [[/strikethrough]] June 84

Ines & I work [[strikethrough]] at [[/strikethrough]] with animals from Viv I all day, Micoeca, #6, R, M, & #9.

They take a short jaunt - about 60 m up the hillside & we follow them on the steep slope, crawling when we have to.

#6 seems to lead, & Mc stays in background altho he follows. He tends to be inconspicuous.

#6 & Mc do some allogrooming & it looks as tho they are beginning to bond. Mc seems very tolerant of infants.

And he & #9 seem to tolerate each other better with #9 treating him more like an adult male.
