3. This outstanding mission executed by the 332nd Fighter Group, was one of the longest flown by the Fifteenth Air Force up to this time. Its successful completion was due to the combined efforts of both flying and ground personnel. The enthusiasm displayed by the ground crews in preparation and the pilots in carrying out this important mission plainly exhibited the "esprit de corps" that marked the units of the Fifteenth Air Force and made them undefeatable teams. This Group by their conspicuous gallantry, professional skill and devotion to duty exhibited in this outstanding performance in action against the enemy is deserving of a unit citation. It is recommended that a citation be approved and that it be confirmed in War Department General Orders.
