It looks like Marina Brooks, Maxie Manning and Maxine Taylor have joined the knittin' of small mittens. Congrats.

Chicken salad, hot home made rolls and iced tea were enjoyed at the first social of the season. All of the members seemed quite enthused to get together again; however, we hope that card playing won't predominate in the future as it did this first social.

Agatha Davis seems so very pleased with the nursery, and why wouldn't she after all the bad luck and hard effort she has put forth. Now we can see that waiting for the best in a base nursery was right--couldn't see it at the time.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a luncheon at the Belmont and a theatre party with the club furnishing corsages for members attending? One would really feel like dressing and attending and 'twould be something to look forward to, wouldn't it?

Sure hated to see Beatrice Turner leave, but hope she will keep in touch with us and visit often.

Why don't more club members attend the dances at the club? Is it plain laziness, or is it just too hard to get out of that deep rut?

HOUSEHOLD HINTS

TOO MUCH SALT? If you over-salt vegetables, a piece of raw potato put into the water will absorb the salt.

CREAM WHIPS FASTER -- If cream is thoroughly chilled and a few drops of lemon juice are added, it will whip more quickly. Evaporated milk can be whipped easier if it is partially frozen in the refrigerator freezing unit first.

The Lockbourne Officer Wives Club entertained themselves Thursday, October 30 at 2:30 with a luncheon in the Officers' Mess. The table was beautifully decorated with a Halloween motif. The center-piece of bronze and gold chrysanthemums was especially attractive. A very delicious luncheon consisted of creamed chicken, asparagus, individual salad molds, hot rolls, ice cream and tea or coffee was enjoyed by twenty-one guests.
