[[bold]] Information and Instructions [[/bold]]

Telephone service for Lockbourne Air Force Base is classified as follows:
CLASS "A" - Installations made for official use in conduct of Government business.
CLASS "B" SERVICE - Installations made in quarters and commercial establishments on the Base for the convenience of occupants. A charge is made by the Base Communications officer for this service.
CLASS "C" SERVICE - Installations made for the conduct of official intrapost business.
CLASS "D" SERVICE - Installations made for specific use of patrols.
CLASS "A" AND CLASS "B" installations have automatic access to trunk lines connected with the Columbus Telephone Exchange while Class "C" and Class "D" installations do not.
The limited number of trunk lines to the Columbus Exchange makes essential the limiting of calls to Columbus, both in number and in length.
Department heads are responsible for the supervision of department telephone service and must exercise this supervision at all times, to the end. that official telephone installations will not be used for personal calls.
Surveys will be made by the Base Communications Officer to check on unauthorized use of telephones and telephone service will be promptly reclassified to Class "C" when violations occur.

[[bold]] PROPER USE OF THE TELEPHONE [[/bold]]

disconnect.

number.
     3. In the interest of good service, it is imperative that all calls for INFORMATION BE LIMITED TO THE MINIMUM. USE THE TELEPHONE DIRECTORY FOR NUMBERS LISTED.
     4. Do not say “Hello” when answering the telephone. Always give the location of the telephone and the name of the person speaking; i.e. “Quartermaster's Office, Chief Clerk Corporal Doe speaking." Conversation should be as short as practicable.
