THE FACULTY 
HARVEY T. ALNESS, Colonel, USAF, 1085A

"Pinky" was born November 19, 1909 in Bayport, Minn. He attended State Teachers College in River Falls, Wis., and graduated from USMA in 1934. He received his wings at Kelly Field in October 1935. Prior to the war he served at Hamilton Field, Calif., Hickam Field, T.H., and Ft. Knox, Ky. During the first part of the war he served in Hq., USAF. He was ordered to the CBI in 1944 where he commanded the 7th Bomb Group. He returned to Hq., USAF, after the war and was later assigned to the 1st XGM Group at Eglin Field, Fla., as CO. As commander of the B-17 Drone Group he participated in the first Atomic Bomb test at Bikini. Returning to the States this Group made the historic flight of two unmanned Drones from Hilo, Hawaii, to Muroc, Calif. He returned to Eglin and remained there until assigned to the AWC, graduating from that institution in the class of 1948. Since then he has been a member of the AWC faculty and staff in the Logistics & Technology Division. "Pinky's" hobbies include sports, reading and travel. His wife Jozelle (Jo) is from San Antonio, Texas. Children are Martha Joe (age 9) and Mary Carolyn (18 months). 

ROLLEN H. ANTHIS, Colonel, USAF, 2053A

"Buck" was born Dec. 4, 1915, and calls El Reno, Oklahoma, his home. He attended the Oklahoma Military Academy and the University of Oklahoma. He joined the Air Corps in 1938, receiving his wings in 1939. He was assigned initially to the 90th Attack Squadron at Barksdale Field, later moving to Savannah, Ga. In 1941 he moved o Grenier Field, Manchester, N.H.; later in 1941 he was assigned to ferrying aircraft from the West Coast factories. In 1942 he became Sqdn. Comdr. at Long Beach, Cal. Later in 1942 through early 1943 he was Base C.O. at Palm Springs, Cal. In June 1943 he became Comdr. of the 4th Ftr. O.T.U. at Brownsville, Tex. Early in 1944 he was assigned as Base Comdr. of the 1257th AFBU, Marrakech, Morocco. In 1945 he was assigned as Wing Comdr. of the 1252nd AFBU at Casablanca. After returning to the ZI in Nov. 1946, he became Asst. C/S for Personnel and Administration, ATC. In 1948 he reported as a student to the AWC. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the AWC faculty. Buck's hobbies are golf, hunting, and photography. His wife, Evelyn, is from El Reno, Okla. Children are Penny (age 9), Jane (age 3), and Deborah (age 9 mos.).
