March 10, 1952

Dear Mr. Buhrle:

A few hours ago I received from the Honorable Giovanni Ponti, President of the Biennale di Venezia, his letter of March 5, of which I am sending you herein a copy.

I have immediately answered him as per the copy you will also find enclosed.

As you will notice he is desirous of obtain for the XXVIth Biennale, scheduled for the summer of 1952, the small painting of "La Parade" by Seurat which is now in your collection.

I am also sending you with this letter the two blanks which were forwarded to me and may I ask you to be so good as to give him directly your answer.

You will see that I purposely did not mention your name.

I expect to be in Paris, Hotel Ritz, at the end of this week and do hope that while I am in Europe I shall have the pleasure of seeing you.

With personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
