February 10th, 1930,

Dear Mrs. Barclay,

I had the visit of my client on Saturday afternoon, who looked at your charming pictures by Lapicie and though he liked them very much, his wife did not think they would fit in their music room.

However, it appeared that my client was not particularly anxious to purchase anything at this moment and I therefore return to you the two paintings. Should, in the near future, some prospect transpire, I shall be delighted to communicate with you again and see whether you have the two paintings.

Meanwhile, believe me to be

Yours faithfully,
