Dear Mr. Belin:

I shall take advantage of the quiet of Easter Saturday in catching up with my notes I made on my Washington trip last Tuesday.

First of all, let me tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you and that I am perfectly enchanted with"Evermay". I would never have thought one could find such a paradise isle in the heart of the big city. You are really fortunate, and believe me that I regret that my daily schedule was so crowded that I could not enjoy a little longer stay.

Regarding the terra cota bust of the Empress Catherina of Russia which you showed me, I checked up with the one we have here and found that ours had been made and was signed by Nicolas François Gillet (Metz 1708-1791) and came originally from the collection of Count Stragonoff in Rome. The size of this bust was 26". Unfortunately, this bust has been sold in Paris, and I have at the moment no further record nor am I even in possession of a photograph, but I have made a note in my European "doissier" for an investigation for it when I am abroad.

I am sending you in the enclosure a letter of introduction to my friend, Arno Kunheim, whom I am certain you will find a delightful person, and I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy seeing him and his magnificent collection of paintings. In this regard, would you kindly be good enough to drop me a line to let me know when you expect to be in Berlin and where you intend to stay as I would like to write to Arno Kunheim so he will be able to get in touch with you. If I am not mistaken, he is living on his country estate outside of Berlin and has
